About the Position
Millions of students nationwide lack the access to technology and the skills they need to succeed in the digital world. Since 2012, Verizon has worked to help solve this problem through a transformative program called Verizon Innovative Learning. Digital Promise collaborates with Verizon to partner with middle and high school leaders, coaches, teachers and students across America by providing technology, access, technical support, and comprehensive professional learning, and to support technology integration in classrooms and to advance digital equity.

Reporting to a Director of District Impact, the Associate Director of School Impact will support a portfolio of schools to create transformational technology integration, resulting in powerful learning experiences for all students. The ADSI works directly with district and school staff including principals, instructional technology coaches, campus IT support, and teachers to execute onboarding, provide coaching, and support implementation, professional development, and technical support for digital equity programming. This role will be fully immersed in the effective use of digital technologies in learning, and demonstrate deep knowledge on an array of topics, including districts and schools, professional learning, leadership, customer success, program management, and communications.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and key partner for a portfolio of schools, driving toward successful, sustainable, and transformational technology integration aligned to the Digital Equity Framework.
  • Partner with school leadership and support teams throughout their Verizon Innovative Learning Partnership (VILS) journey, including instructional technology coaches, schools- based IT, school leadership teams, and district IT points of contact
  • Drive toward proficiency across the Digital Equity Framework through personalized onboarding, coaching (leadership, instructional, and implementation), mentoring, and other 1:1 and group support for school leadership and support teams
  • Collaborate cross-functionally within and across teams to influence, internalize, and create impact through Learner Journey experiences, and all aspects of partnership programming
  • Facilitate regular check ins and provide tailored solutions and responsive supports for school leadership and support teams, integrating district and school systems and instructional goals
  • Provide differentiated onboarding, coaching, mentoring and 1:1 support for school leadership and support teams
  • Collaborate with the Director District Impact and school leadership to develop and execute program goals and technology implementation plans aligned to the district and schools instructional goals
  • Support VILS coaches and teachers instructional planning, instructional modeling, and technology integration using the Digital Equity Framework and other key tools
  • Support the development of school-wide behavior protocols and strategies to support device roll out and care, minimizing device claims, and to support the meaningful integration of technology into powerful learning experiences
  • Monitor, track, respond to, and report progress on implementation (data usage, inventory, device claims, etc.) and sustainability metrics as well as project benchmarks for all assigned projects and schools
  • Guide selection and alignment of learning experiences to district and school instructional focus across all four years of the VILS partnership
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to schedule, customize and facilitate district and school training, as needed
  • Facilitate regular site visits over the course of the partnership to support the effective integration of technology in the classroom and development of Digital Equity Competencies for Leaders, Coaches, IT, Teachers, and Students in service of advancing digital equity
  • Support schools to complete teacher technology surveys and classroom observations/walkthroughs
  • Assist schools to effectively create and implement systems systems for digital equity and technology implementation including but not limited to coaching, professional development, Student Tech Teams, digital citizenship, device rollout, and device management/refresh.
  • Coordinate across the departments to ensure that district and school trainings are scheduled and executed, engaged, and connected to learners’ ongoing support
  • Collaborate with assigned schools to develop a project plan for setting up district-and school-level systems (asset management and inventory, mobile device management, device care, filtering, school and district policies, etc.)
  • Collaborate with internal departments to address school and district needs, including help desk tickets and inquiries, as needed
  • Track and report on goals as applicable.
  • Assist with the collection of Stories of Impact for VILS
  • Inform and escalate school and district implementation issues to the Director of District Impact

All team members will actively engage in Digital Promise projects that promote and advance digital equity and contribute meaningfully to achieving the organization’s impact goals.

Education
Advanced degree preferred in education leadership, educational technology, or related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.

Qualifications

Overall

  • Minimum 5-10 years in education in roles of increasing responsibility
  • Direct, professional experience working in K-12 public school district
  • Expertise in the integration of instructional technology in K-12 schools
  • Experience as an instructional technology coach, campus or district administrator is preferred
  • Experience in the educational technology field is a plus
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Knowledge of functions, features, limitations, and practical applications of the technologies for support and program management (i.e., Asana, Microsoft & Google suites, Salesforce, Qualtrics, etc.)
  • A thorough understanding of the Digital Equity Framework and competencies and the ability to apply this knowledge to support of schools and districts
  • Maintain emotional composure

Analytical and Data Skills

  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools
  • Ability to research, analyze, and provide a solution to newly identified issues
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to be flexible to project situations

Project Management

  • Excellent project management skills with an emphasis on attention to detail, timelines, and quality of work
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and rapidly adapt and respond to district and school requests and timeline changes

Relationship Management

  • Experienced and demonstrated knowledge of client/partner management, internal collaboration (within and cross-team)
  • Highly collaborative, organized, and execution-oriented with strong presentation skills

Leadership Coaching, Instructional Coaching, and Implementation Coaching

  • Effective methodology and techniques:
    • In leadership, instructional (especially technology integration), and program implementation coaching
    • To evaluate the effectiveness of coaching
    • Professional standards and ethical guidelines for coaching
    • To coach individuals or teams to identify goals, develop realistic action plans, seek development opportunities, and monitor progress and accountability

Communication

  • Experience with communication and customer relationship systems such as Slack, Salesforce, and Asana
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills appropriate for C-Suite level, as well as impeccable interpersonal skills
  • Skill in applying principles of active listening, such as focusing on what someone is saying, deferring judgment, and responding appropriately

Lifelong Learning

  • Skill in acquiring new knowledge through professional development activities for one's self, such as participating in coaching, attending professional conferences, self-directed reading, and monitoring industry trends
  • Skill in developing, maintaining, and leveraging networks across a range of people and groups inside and outside the organization, such as influential people and learning and performance experts

Working Conditions:
Digital Promise Global is a hybrid organization. Employees are expected to travel at least 4 times a year for in-person meetings and the annual staff retreat. Additional travel may be required based on role and responsibilities.

Compensation

We consider candidate experience and location when determining where a candidate may fall within that range. Digital Promise Global offers a competitive total rewards package including coverage of 85% of health insurance premiums for employee coverage and 75% of health insurance premiums for dependent and family coverage, 15 vacation days, 12 sick days, 3% 401k employer contribution, 3% employer 401k match, and a flexible work environment.

The full-time salary range for the Associate Director, School Impact position based on geographical regions are listed below, with exact salary depending on relevant experience.

California: $125,197 - $136,243

DC Metro Area & NYC: $113,815 - $123,858

National: $102,434 - $111,472
