About Digital Promise
Digital Promise is an independent, bipartisan 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization authorized by Congress to spur innovation in education for all levels of learners. Positioned at the intersection of educators, entrepreneurs, and researchers, Digital Promise identifies, develops, and promotes strategies to improve all levels of education and provide Americans with the knowledge and skills needed to compete in the global economy. Digital Promise is a fast-paced, growing, entrepreneurial organization that values and rewards performance, collaboration, and innovation.

About the Position
Digital Promise’s work includes networks of districts and schools who collaborate to advance effective innovation for all learners. The League of Innovative Schools (League) is Digital Promise’s flagship initiative, which has grown into a robust and dynamic network of 114 public school districts in 33 states, representing over 3 million students. League members are committed to working together to improve student outcomes and solve the challenges facing K-12 schools through innovative strategies, learning technologies, and research. League districts often engage in broader, multi-sector partnerships in their regions called Education Innovation Clusters (EdClusters).

Digital Promise’s League and EdClusters networks engage educators, researchers, edtech developers, and other stakeholders to advance innovation and improve learning opportunities for all students through online professional learning communities and rapid-cycle R&D projects. Digital Promise is seeking a K-12 product manager to support the design and development of R&D outputs (tools, websites, guides, workshops, programs) that address key education challenges identified by network  members.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the team and networks on the R&D projects with a specific focus on the design, development and implementation of outputs  (tools, websites, guides, workshops, programs) to address education challenges

  • Manage multiple projects from concept-to-completion, coordinating key deliverables on overlapping timelines.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (Digital Promise staff, educators and administrators from districts, researchers, developers, etc) to ensure outputs align to the defined requirements, to include establishing processes for rapid-cycle iteration

  • Work with external consultants, contractors and advisors on the development and completion of design, editorial, and technical deliverables.

    • These may include instructional tools, frameworks, programs, professional development workshops, web apps, educator micro-credentials, etc.

    • Topics may include real world learning, data interoperability, computational thinking, and others on the Digital Promise Challenge Map.

  • Support designers and developers in packaging and publishing R&D outputs.

  • Lead meetings and training sessions with district leaders virtually and in person.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience managing and being accountable for the development — from concept-to-completion — of digital education products for K-12 audiences.

  • Experience partnering with educators and/or education researchers in designing education products.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of internet/web/software technical operation and ability to effectively evaluate design and technical approaches and proposals.

  • Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects and maintaining clear, consistent communication to ensure milestones and deadlines are met.

  • Knowledge of and ability to manage agile product development models and processes.

  • Ability to communicate technical complexity to non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to facilitate professional learning experiences online and in person.

  • Ability to travel for conferences and meetings (estimate 10-20%).

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage competing tasks, deadlines, requirements, and decisions.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • A passion for education, a team mentality, creativity, and a positive “can-do” “yes-and” spirit.
