About the Position
The Learning Sciences Research (LSR) group is a dynamic team of researchers who engage directly with schools and educators to design and study learning experiences that empower learners. Through partnerships with universities, schools, companies, and peer organizations, we design and publish resources for practitioners, conduct and share research, and advocate for powerful learning experiences. The Financial Manager will support the submission of proposals and the management of funded projects awarded within the Learning Sciences Research group, collaborating with both Digital Promise Global staff and key partners.

Responsibilities

  • Manage financial requirements for proposals, in coordination with Principal Investigators and/or proposal leads. This includes requesting/obtaining budgets from partners/vendors and preparing proposal budget documents to be submitted to funders. 

  • Support management of financial requirements for funded projects. This includes: 

    • Developing and executing project plans based on grant/project requirements,

    • Managing contracts with partners and vendors (e.g., supporting the approval of invoices), and

    • Updating/tracking project information (e.g., deliverables) in Salesforce.

  • Track project spending and provide teams with periodic reports to aid projections for future spending.

  • Support preparation of grant/project reports.

  • Proactively identify potential issues and follow-up on open issues, both internally and, as appropriate, externally. Communicate resolution to relevant parties.       

  • Keep the grants calendar and track outcomes.

  • Support executive directors in preparing annual budgets and related financial performance reports for LSR as a whole.

  • Support executive directors in tracking allocation of LSR staff among funded projected and anticipating trends that might impact financial performance.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • 5+ years of grant management experience; experience in accounting/finance preferred.

  • Experience working on federally funded projects a plus.

  • Management experience working with multiple stakeholder groups to meet ambitious milestones. 

  • Stellar organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure information is shared, projects are completed on time, and goals are reached. Comfortable working with others synchronously and asynchronously online, as well as in person.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage competing tasks, deadlines, requirements, and decisions.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • A passion for education, a team mentality, agility, creativity, and a positive “can-do,” “yes-and” spirit.

Compensation
Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience.
